The purpose of this agenda item it to grant an extension to Article I of Ordinance 14.28 medical transfer service (MTS) franchise agreement. To protect and promote the public health, safety, and welfare of Georgetown residents by ensuring continued medical transfer services, the City desires to waive the six-month notice requirement and extend Franchisee’s franchise through September 30, 2025.

Georgetown Fire Department has reviewed the application(s) and recommends approval.

Approval of this ordinance amendment will allow the franchisee the following:

1. Non-exclusive privilege to provide non-emergency transfer services in Georgetown

2. Back-up to 9-1-1 ambulance service to the City

3. A three (3) year agreement

If approved, a second reading of this ordinance is tentatively scheduled for September 27, 2022.
