SUBJECT:

Discussion and possible direction to staff on Downtown Parking Garage -- Laurie Brewer, Assistant City Manager

ITEM SUMMARY:

Council directed staff on July 27, 2021 to utilize the prior work and studies, completed 2015-2020 to accelerate the analysis of potential sites for a downtown parking garage.  On August 10, Council directed staff to include additional sites for an updated analysis to be performed by WGI Engineering, the firm that has done work on downtown parking for Georgetown since 2015.  On November 9, 2021, Council directed staff to provide public engagement on the sites at 9th & Main, 6th & Main and the Tamiro lot at (6th & Austin/east).

 

Staff will provide an overview and summary of the public feedback received from the outreach presentations, review site summaries and updated cost information and seeks feedback and confirmation on sites, funding considerations and the next steps and timeline.
