Second Reading of an Ordinance revising the Existing Chapter 3.01 Pertaining to Personnel Policies by revising section 3.01.041 "Health Information Privacy", and section 3.01.322 "Family and Medical Leave" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown -- Tadd Phillips, Human Resources and Organizational Development Director |
| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY:
In response to an external consultant recommendation and internal review work including lean A3 processes, staff reviewed the Health Information Privacy and Family Medical Leave policies and made updates to reflect current law and practice. Significant research was conducted to develop a thorough review of these policies that both 1) ensures sensitive medical documentation processes and employee concerns and addressed, 2) eligible employees for individual or military family members Family medical leave are easy to understand and follow. The revised policies give clearer guidance and accountability.
This ordinance addresses the Purpose, Scope, and Policy statements. Procedural changes to personnel policies are reviewed by the City Attorney and approved by the City Manager. The Health Information privacy, and Family Medical Leave policies and procedures and included in the attachments. These revised policies will be communicated to City employees in October, assuming Council Approval. |
