SUBJECT:

Second Reading of an Ordinance for the voluntary annexation of approximately 39.969 acres of city-owned Right-of-Way situated in part in the Joseph Thompson Survey, Abstract No. 608, and known as the Southwest Bypass -- Nat Waggoner, Assistant Planning Director - Long Range Planning

ITEM SUMMARY:

Southwest Bypass, between FM2243 and South San Gabriel River is owned and maintained by the City of Georgetown and Southwest Bypass, the property between FM2243 and South San Gabriel River is contiguous to the city limits; therefore eligible for annexation proceedings according to the Texas Local Government Code, Section 43.1055. Per the Texas Local Government Code 43.063 – two public hearings were conducted 20-40 days before first reading of the annexation ordinance.

 

City Council First Reading

At their September 14, 2021 regular meeting, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance and service plan with a vote of 6-0 in favor.
