This Interlocal Agreement provides for City’s participation in improvements to Westinghouse Road between 1460 and SH 130. Williamson County, as part of both their 2013 Road Bond and the 2019 Road Bond, has started the Westinghouse Project to provide for an initial upgrade of the existing roadway to a 3.7 mile long two-land roadway with shoulders and to provide for preliminary planning for an ultimate six-lane divided urban roadway for the east-west transportation corridor of Westinghouse Road/CR 111, CR 110, and CR 105. Williamson County has completed project design and construction is expected to begin in early 2022 and take approximately 18 months to complete.
The City, as part of its 2021 Voter Approved Mobility Bond, received approval to contribute a total of $8.2 million towards the County’s Westinghouse Road Project, an amount that roughly corresponds to the portion of the project within the City limits, relative to the full project length.
The Interlocal Agreement provides that Williamson County is responsible for all the up front design, construction, and property acquisition costs, and that the City will reimburse its portion of the costs as follows: 25% upon execution of the Agreement between the City of Georgetown and Williamson County, 25% upon awarding bid, 25% when construction is 50% complete (as determined by the value of the work completed to date against the contract amount), and 25% upon substantial completion.
The Interlocal Agreement also provides for the transfer of certain property rights and the City’s assumption of maintenance and operation of Westinghouse Road within the City limits.
