Second Reading of an Ordinance adopting the City of Georgetown Annual Budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2019, and ending September 30, 2020 --Leigh Wallace, Finance Director |
| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY:
This Ordinance adopts the Annual Budget for fiscal year 2020, including operating and capital expenditures. The proposed budget was presented to City Council on August 6, 2019 following Council workshop on July 17. Public Hearings on the 2019 Tax Rate and the 2020 Annual Budget were held on September 3, 2019 and September 10, 2019.
State law requires that the budget be adopted as a record vote, separate from the adoption of the City’s tax rate.
First reading of the ordinance was on September 10. Since First Reading, staff has updated the General Fund and Fleet Fund. The attached presentation explains the changes and the updated fund schedules are attached to the item. The All Funds figure is also updated in attachments and the ordinance. The changes do not affect the property tax rate.
