Forwarded from the Arts and Culture Advisory Board:
Consideration and possible action to approve an arts and culture grant application to Texas Commission on the Arts for funding towards the Preserving History mural, located at the back of City Hall and adjacent to the Shotgun House -- Amanda Still, Arts and Culture Coordinator and Eric P. Lashley, Library Services Director
The Arts and Culture Board is working with Georgetown Cultural Citizens Memorial Association to paint a mural behind the Shotgun House titled, Preserving History, located behind the new City Hall. The City has applied for a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts for $1,500 to offset costs.
The targeted audience for this mural includes the members of GCCMA and adjacent neighborhood, City employees, library patrons and Cultural District patrons both local and visiting. Key personnel include the Arts and Culture Coordinator, the Library Director, and the Arts and Culture Board.
This project is scheduled to be funded through FY 19-20's budget. This would save the City $1,500 in costs associated with this mural project.
