Consideration and possible action to approve a task order amendment to Crescent Power, Inc. for services related to energy congestion management and ERCOT representation related services -- Jim Briggs, General Manager, Utilities

Crescent Power, Inc. has been working with the City over the past year to mitigate any transmission congestion and curtailment management within the ERCOT grid. The initial scope of work included services related to coordination with ERCOT and transmission providers in the ERCOT grid. The initial scope of services has proven solid success in mitigating certain curtailment issues impacting energy scheduled for Georgetown. Even with the recent successes there is expanded work to be monitored related to transmission improvements within the Western energy zone.

Crescent will exceed their initial amount of funding by fiscal year end and this scope is to provide additional funding to continue the coordination work and mitigation efforts related to energy curtailments.

Staff is recommending approval of this task order with a maximum not to exceed amount adjusted to $105,000.00 through December 31, 2020 to Crescent Power, Inc. for continuing the services described.

Payment not to exceed a total of $60,000.00 will be paid from the Energy Resource Management fund - Special Services 610-5-0537-51-330.
