ITEM SUMMARY:

The construction of Rivery Blvd from Williams Drive to Northwest Blvd is approaching completion and expected to be open to traffic in the near future. In order to be compliant with state standards and allow for enforcement, a speed limit must be set by ordinance. City staff and the roadway design engineer recommend a speed limit of 35 miles per hour be set for the new road, with the area in and around the new traffic circle being 20 miles per hour. Once the road is opened, staff will continue to monitor the roadway and recommend adjustments, if necessary.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no direct cost associated with this item. Speed limit signs are included in the roadway contract.
